Visual Studio Code - Code Editor (Free)

Visual Studio Code is the code editor that I use for almost all of my projects. I've tried many other code editors but this is by far my favorite.
"Visual Studio Code is a lightweight but powerful source code editor which runs on your desktop and is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. It comes with built-in support for JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js and has a rich ecosystem of extensions for other languages (such as C++, C#, Java, Python, PHP, Go) and runtimes (such as .NET and Unity)." - Microsoft

Audacity - Audio Recorder & Editor (Free)

If you want audio software that is excellent at recording and editing audio with a simple interface, then Audacity is the right choice. I use this software to record and edit all of my tutorial video voiceovers and game audio clips. Side note, Audacity also has great noise reduction tools built into the software which is very helpful for people with entry level microphones.
"Audacity is an easy-to-use, multi-track audio editor and recorder for Windows, macOS, GNU/Linux and other operating systems. Developed by a group of volunteers as open source." - Audacity
